I Walked Away From All of It.

This is the story of why No Half Cakes exists. And why your story matters more than you think.

The HALF CAKE

A few years ago, I walked into my house at 8:45pm only to find my family had already sung happy birthday to my son without me. The candles were already blown out. The cake was half-eaten. And I was standing there, staring at a half-eaten cake, realizing I had traded the moment I could never get back for work that didn’t even matter. That night broke something in me. But it also exposed something I had been ignoring for years. I was building a life that other people online were quietly applauding while the people at home were quietly disappearing. I made a promise to myself right then. No more half-cake living. No more half-present father. No more half-version of me that showed up to life like a business obligation.

why this matters

I’ve been building businesses for over 25 years. Not just helping other people build theirs – building my own. Multiple seven and eight-figure companies. Real revenue. Real exits. Real success by every measure that’s supposed to matter.

In 2012, I started a digital agency. Over the next decade, I helped hundreds of businesses scale while growing my own team to over 25 people. By every external measure, I had figured it out.

But something was always off. The revenue went up, but the fulfillment never came. The businesses grew, but I felt smaller. The wins stacked up, but the stress never went down.

I thought the problem was what I was doing – the wrong business model, the wrong market, the wrong strategy. But the real problem was simpler: I was building from the wrong foundation. I was hiding the parts of my story that felt like failures and showing up as only the “successful entrepreneur” version of me. And that divided version cost me everything that actually mattered.

From Pain To Purpose

When I finally stopped running from my story and started owning it, everything changed. I didn’t quit business. I didn’t lose my ambition. I just stopped building from a version of myself that wasn’t whole.

I took 25 years of experience building companies, writing, and helping people see what they couldn’t see clearly, and combined it with the hardest lesson I ever learned: success without alignment is just expensive emptiness.

The real work wasn’t helping people chase more revenue or build bigger teams. It was helping them understand who they are so they can build from that truth. That’s how No Half Cakes was born.

Not as a web design agency. Not as a marketing company. Not even as a publishing house. No Half Cakes is a place where people stop hiding from their story and start building from it.
I spent 25 years building businesses the hard way. Now I help people build from clarity instead.

your story matters

Here’s what I know about you:
You’ve been dismissing your story as “not important enough.”
You think the messy parts disqualify you. You think people will judge you if they see the full picture.

But the truth is simpler than that…

Your breaking point didn’t end your story. It broke it open.

The parts you’ve been hiding?

Those are the parts that shaped you. And when you finally own them, they stop being a weight and become a foundation.

That’s what I help people do.

I help you see your story clearly.

The patterns, the turning points, the hidden strengths you’ve been carrying for years.
Then I help you write it, publish it, and build from it.

Not because everyone needs to be an author.

But because owning your story changes everything.
